Georgia will take center stage at the Beethovenfest Campus Concert in Berlin on September 24. The event combines music with discussion of current social issues.
The Campus Concert begins at 7Ā p.m. with the panel discussion “DemocracyĀ underĀ pressure?Ā TheĀ situation forĀ cultural andĀ mediaĀ professionals in Georgia.” Guests from theĀ worldsĀ of culture and media will discuss current developments in the country, as well as the importance of artistic freedom, independent journalism, and social dialogue.
Georgia hasĀ faced months ofĀ political tensions and public debate. QuestionsĀ overĀ democratic participation, media freedom, and cultural self-determination continue to shape discussions across the country. The panel will explore theseĀ developmentsĀ and provide context for the concert that follows.

PanelistsĀ include Dudana Mazmanishvili, Minister Counselor at the Embassy of Georgia in Berlin, a Georgian journalist, and a Georgian cultural professional living in exile.Ā Ā Jochen RosenkranzĀ will moderate the discussion.
Musical encounters from Georgia
The evening’s musical highlight will be the world premiere of a new work by 17-year-old Georgian composer and pianist Tsotne Zedginidze, who will also perform asĀ piano soloist.
The Campus ConcertĀ bringsĀ togetherĀ members of Germany’s National YouthĀ OrchestraĀ Ā andĀ young artists from GeorgiaĀ in aĀ musical exchange across borders. It is aimed at music lovers as well as audiences interested in international affairs, democracy, and the media. By connecting the concert hall with contemporary social discourse, the project offers a multifaceted perspective on Georgia and its cultural scene.
