US President Donald Trump has said he would "love" to see the Republic of Ireland, an EU member, unite with British-run Northern Ireland as he faced reporters' questions on a range of issues on Saturday. Trump is taking the weekend trip largely to watch the Irish Open golf tournament held on a course he owns on the country’s Atlantic coast, but he met as well with the Irish president and prime minister, or taoiseach. The US leader also spoke optimistically about his country's war with Iran and its trade conflict with Canada, among several other topics. What did Trump say about Ireland? After a meeting with Irish Prime Minister Micheal Martin in the capital, Dublin, Trump said he very much supported what he said would be the eventual unification of the two parts of the island of Irelan...

Bayeux Tapestry goes on display at sold-out London exhibit

The Bayeux Tapestry exhibition in London opened Thursday to much fanfare, in what British newspaper the Times has dubbed "Tapestry-mania," with more than 100,000 tickets already sold. The tapestry is on loan from France, and comes after years of diplomacy, with the move being seen as a symbol of close ties between Paris and London. It is thought to be the first time the tapestry has gone on display outside of France. British Prime Minister Andy Burnham called the tapestry's loan a "return," while King Charles III hailed the move as a "precious symbol of trust at a time when trust seems sadly to be in short supply between nations." The work is believed to have been made in England nearly 1,000 years ago before finding its way to Bayeux, now located in the French region of Normandy.  Two...
