Airbnb adds new services such as in-home massages, chefs and more as platform expands

Airbnb has begun letting users book in-home massages, chefs and personal trainers as part of an overhaul of its app as it continues to expand beyond being just a platform for short-term lodging.

โ€œHotels do have one thing that we donโ€™t have and those are services,โ€ said chief executive Brian Chesky at a launch event in Los Angeles, in the US state of California. โ€œWho doesnโ€™t want a quesadilla in bed?โ€

Chesky described the addition of services to the platform as โ€œgiving you the best of both worlds โ€“ amazing homes with services that make them even more specialโ€.

People also have the option of using the Airbnb app to schedule the services in their own homes when they are not travelling.

Airbnb has logged more than 2 billion guest arrivals since it first launched its website in 2008, according to Chesky.
