Billy Joel cancels touring after being diagnosed with brain disorder

Billy Joel has cancelled all his coming concerts across North America and England after being diagnosed with fluid build-up in his brain that has affected his โ€œhearing, vision and balanceโ€.

Joel revealed on social media that he has Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus, โ€œa brain disorder that can affect brain-related abilities, including thinking and concentrating, memory, movement and moreโ€, the Cleveland Clinic says.

โ€œThis condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision and balance,โ€ according to a statement from Joelโ€™s team.

โ€œUnder his doctorโ€™s instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period.โ€

In an accompanying statement, Joel said: โ€œIโ€™m sincerely sorry to disappoint our audience, and thank you for understanding.โ€
