Former Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte is set to attend a thanksgiving event in Hong Kong, amid an investigation by the International Criminal Court (ICC) into his controversial anti-drug campaign.
Sources confirmed to the Post that he was in Hong Kong. His appearance has featured prominently in promotional materials for a Filipino workersโ event at Wan Chaiโs Southorn Stadium on Sunday.
A Post reporter observed his daughter, Vice-President of the Philippines Sara Duterte, walking into the venue in the morning.
The event, titled the โPasasalamat kay PRRD with OFWS (Overseas Filipino Workers)โ, will run from 9am to 5pm.
Hundreds of people lined up outside the stadium from as early as 8am to catch a glimpse of the former president, with the queue stretching along the nearby Johnston Road.

Those without tickets were directed to wait at a football pitch in the area, with police later asking them to leave.
